Capoeira is a powerful tool of cultural resistance. Now recognized as an intangible cultural heritage of Brazil, it is celebrated worldwide, promoting cultural resilience through art. The capoeira circle, which combines martial arts, dance, and music, is a vivid display of resistance and skill, reflecting both historical struggle and cultural endurance.<\/p>

\nThe main objectives of the Capoeira Angola project in the Santa Maria settlement are to strengthen Afro-Indigenous culture in the region, foster personal empowerment among Black and Indigenous children, youth, and adults, and serve as a tool for self-defence and the prevention of child and youth violence.<\/p><\/p>\n <\/div><\/div>

From Serra Grande, Bahia, has been dedicated to Capoeira Angola since 2004.

Influenced by masters such as Tisza Coelho, Cabello, Virgilio, Azul\u00e3o Baiano, and Cascudo.

He became a teacher in 2015 and has since taught at various centers, schools, and associations in Bahia. He began his own Capoeira Angola class at the Associa\u00e7\u00e3o do Sargi\/SG in 2019 and in public schools in Serra Grande in 2023.

He has actively participated in Capoeira Angola events throughout Brazil since 2009.

In Volta do Mundo, he held Capoeira Angola experiences in Mexico City, VeraCruz, Xalapa and M\u00e9rida (2018); and regular Capoeira Angola events and classes in Finland, Italy and France \u2013 Europe (2019).

He is part of the samba chula group \u201cS\u00f3 o Cerne\u201d in Serra Grande \u2013 BA and carries out Samba de Roda experiences throughout the region.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>\n\n\n\n
